Here is another one of Mendy’s creative Mother’s Day Digital Art pieces! I think this one would be so cute printed on a coffee mug or stationary or something fun Mom can keep!
Materials:
- Vintage Photo
- Lil’ Fan Fair Paper by Christina Renee
- Stitched Journaling Strips by Katie Pertiet
- Misprinted Type Brushes
- Rhonna Farrer Brushes
- LB Computer Typewriter Font
- White Cardstock or Photo Paper
- Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Printer
Instructions:
- Open a new file in photoshop at desired size. Make sure the new file background in transparent.
- Locate a favorite vintage photo.
- Create a layer of cream at 40% opacity. Use the Eraser Tool with grungy brushes to “wipe” the cream layer.
- Add a digital background paper to the new blank file.
- Drag the vintage photo onto the background paper.
- Add text directly onto the art piece.
- Flatten all layers of the card.
- Add grungy brush strokes around the artwork. Add the crown from a brush kit for embellishment.
- Save the project and print onto cardstock or use as an online greeting!
Thanks Mendy! I love the vintage look of this project. Any Mother would feel like a queen to receive such a card!

Just got your newsletter and saw you have a blog. Wonderful to put a face to the company. I have a collaged apron and other pieces in one of your upcoming books!
Cheers! Colette
I don’t know if you’re aware of a cool new site for digital images called Squigglefly.com, but they’ve got some great images that are really reasonable!
