Mother’s Day Project

Here is one more fun Mother’s Day project, designed by Vicki Garrett. I love Vicki’s creative and funky style! Thank you Vicki! The main project is a purse, designed around a paper lunch bag, believe it or not! The note cards are made a special size to fit in the purse. Try writing a special thing you love about mom on each card!

Materials:

  • Small paper lunch bag (3.5″ x 5.5″)
  • Patterned paper by SEI
  • Green and blue textured cardstock
  • Small tag, word window, scallop circle, large oval and double circle punches by Stampin’ Up!
  • Essence of Love stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
  • Dark brown inkpad
  • Star Dust Glue Glitter by Stickles
  • Clear Chunky Glutter by Stampin’ Up!
  • Ribbon
  • Foam tape

Instructions:

  • Cut two 6″ circles from green cardstock.
  • Cut, layer and adhere patterned papers over each circle as shown.
  • Trim small piece of brown patterned paper and adhere along center.
  • Cut 1/2″ off the bottom of each circle and punch purse handles using the large oval punch.
  • Cut off the top of the paper lunch (leaving the bag about 3.5″ high) and adhere circles onto the sides. (Be sure bag bottom sits flat and will open to hold note cards).
  • Stamp the phrase onto green cardstock and punch with the word window punch.
  • Punch blue tag from tag punch and adhere phrase on top of tag.
  • Punch holes and tie ribbon through top. Adhere in place.
  • Ink edges of cardstock and purse with dark brown ink.
  • Stamp butterfly onto cardstock and cut out image. Add glitter and adhere to front of bag with foam tape.
  • All cards are 6″ x 3″. Use the stamp set and assorted papers to make additional note cards to add inside the purse. Get creative with those shape punches, they work great on gift cards!

Just a few more days until Mother’s Day!

Remember, sometimes it’s just the thought that counts…
